PF leader Michael Sata yesterday said it is clear that Vice-President George Kunda is in Mpulungu to celebrate Lameck Chibombamilimo's death. Sata, who yesterday began his campaign tour for the forthcoming Mpulungu parliamentary by-election, said he was saddened by Vice-President Kunda's conduct in Mpulungu.

“George was in Mpulungu and throughout his visit he didn't even bother to apologise for the way they treated Chibombamilimo. What sort of human beings are they who do not respect human life?” Sata asked.

“They neglected Chibombamilimo and as if that was not enough, they couldn't even have the courage to apologise for all the ill treatment they subjected our departed colleague.”

Sata said Vice-President Kunda's conduct was shameful.

“You saw Gastone Sichilima who is Mambwe by tribe from Mbala, Lucy Changwe from Mkushi and Moses Muteteka were dancing as if there was anything to dance for when it is not a secret that their colleague was ill-treated. How do you dance at a funeral?” Sata asked.

“People should have respect for human life. You can't go in an area and start dancing like it’s not a human being who died. They showed no remorse and respect for Chibombamilimo.”

Sata said the behaviour of the MMD team which was recently in Mpulungu was un-African.

“If you don't show respect for the dead in an African society, people will never give a replacement. It is most unfortunate that while George Kunda was busy saying that Mpulungu was an MMD seat, he never sympathised with the family of the late Chibombamilimo,” Sata said.

“George was more concerned with the seat and not Chibombamilimo and the family he left behind. Probably this explains why health minister Kapembwa Simbao never even bothered to visit Chibombamilimo when he was in hospital despite him been Minister of Health."
